Mestizo Mezcal

A perfect convergence of cultures within each bottle. Mestizo Mezcal is an ancient spirit that is unique because of its distinctive, complex and aromatic flavors. MESTIZO is a perfect one-word description of how mezcal was created. Mestizo originates from the Latin mixticius, meaning mixed, and was used by the Spanish to refer to the mixing of the European and indigenous Mexican people. Mezcal is a fusion between the ancient beverage octli, produced by the indigenous tribes of Mexico, and considered to be a gift from the goddess Mayahuel, and the alambique distillation process introduced to the Spanish by the Moors and subsequently brought by the Spanish to the indigenous civilization of the American colonies. Today, the founders of Mestizo Mezcal work with its producers from the Mexican state of Oaxaca to further define and enrich the taste of their product and create a perfect convergence of cultures within each bottle. Mezcal is thus the first MESTIZO spirit of America.

When the ATF shut down his family’s moonshining operation during the Prohibition, the family business was far from over. A century later, the man came knocking again. This time in the form of the college housing authorities, who didn’t much appreciate Aaron making hooch in his dorm. Finding refuge in an off-campus safehouse, he continued to master his craft under the cover of night while working on his plan to go legit. Calwise Spirits are made in celebration of the lifestyle Aaron found on the coast of California: a celebration of reckless adventure, defying authority, and of course, California sunshine (but not too much because he’s a ginger)

Sojourn Cellars began in 2001 as a collaboration between two tennis buddies who discovered a mutual passion for great wine and the things that tend to go with it. Founded by Craig and Ellen Haserot together with winemaker Erich Bradley, Sojourn Cellars makes wines that reflect a heartfelt commitment to producing carefully handcrafted wines for individuals who appreciate sophistication without pretension. Based in the town of Sonoma, Sojourn Cellars is a highly acclaimed winery specializing in the production of artisan Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The fruit is sourced from celebrated vineyards in both Sonoma and Napa Counties. Sojourn helps to direct the farming operations to assure that their grapes are produced using world-class growing techniques. They consistently produce remarkable wines with a hands-off natural winemaking style that showcases the character and personality of the individual vineyards. Sojourn feels passionate about creating high-quality wines and always being accessible to the people who buy and enjoy our wines.

Bosco Agostino

Bosco Agostino

A family tradition in winemaking. The farm was founded by Bosco Pietro in 1904 and its primary business has always been wine growing. In 1979 the grapes so carefully grown were removed from the market to make room for wine-making. This new enterprise was met with so much success that Pietro was soon joined by his youngest son Agostino, who worked with patience and precision and was gifted with intuition for work in both the vineyard and the cellar. After the death of his father (1983), Agostino continued working on the farm, demonstrating such commitment and love for the work as to involve his wife Carla and to find in the world of wine a passion for his son Andrea as well. Today the farm continues to be run as a family business with one goal: achieve grapes of the maximum quality to be transformed into a wine with personality rendering it special and unique. The total vined surface area of the farm is currently at about 4 hectares divided between nebbiolo, barbera and dolcetto. All vineyards are property of and found exclusively within the confines of the Comune of La Morra.

Generations of historic winemaking rooted in tradition. It is documented that Teobaldo Germano was the founder and first president of the Barolo wine growers’ cooperative winery, founded in 1902. Out of the Barolo wine co-op came the founding of the Angelo Germano winery in 1908. The winery has been passed down through several generations of the Germano family and grown substantially all while playing an integral role in the protection and promotion of Barolo and the DOC, DOCG regulations. In the early 1980’s with the whole Germano family involved in the winery and with business growing, Angelo Germano took the first steps to modernize the company and reach out to international markets. Today the family is focused on keeping their tradition alive while maintaining the highest quality of production and striving to bring more enjoyment in bottle. “…to host and engage in an experience that goes beyond the sale of wine.
