Bill Foley’s passion for great wine inspired his launching of Foley Family Wines in 1996. Since then, Foley Family Wines has grown to become a major producer, marketer and distributor of highly-acclaimed wines from some of the world’s greatest vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, Washington, Oregon, California’s Central Coast and in New Zealand.

In 2014, Bill Foley purchased Epic Wines. He was searching for a strong distributor to sell his growing Foley Family Wines portfolio in California, but also saw the potential for Epic to further grow its portfolio of wine, spirits and craft beer. He has built a team of experienced professionals tasked to build brands, create lasting relationships and execute flawlessly throughout the state of California.

Scott Edwards

Scott Edwards
Executive Vice President

Scott has over 30 years of experience with wine, spirits and beer both at the wholesale and supplier levels. Starting his career as an area sales rep in Virginia, Scott quickly progressed into distributor management with Forman Distributing (now RNDC). After transitioning to the supplier side with Beringer Wine Estates, Scott has advanced through various distributor management roles with industry leading companies including Foster's Wine Estates and most recently Foley Family Wines. Scott has successfully managed a variety of channels including national and international sales, retail and on-premise national account and exports.

Justin Sternberg

After an accomplished career in hospitality management, Justin entered the beverage industry as a Division Wine Manager with Young’s Market Company in California. In 2013, Justin joined Foley Family Wines (FFW) and his career accelerated with increasing responsibility as Southwest Regional Manager and later as Director of Strategic Accounts West. After several years with FFW, Justin joined the Epic team to oversee sales in the General Market and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2017. Justin’s leadership is focused on accountability at all levels to produce a company that is a dynamic and easy to work with for both our supply and retail partners. Justin continues to be highly engaged with the marketplace at all times to ensure Epic is consistently applying strategic solutions to enhance our brands' market share and profitability. 

Ryan Norton

Executive Vice President of Supplier Relations

Ryan began his 16 year career to date, in the Food, Beverage, and Hospitality industry. He has worked for independent boutique restaurants as well as regional restaurant chains in both Northern and Southern California. His experience includes staff management and training, and also creating and directing beverage programs.  Ryan began his career on the distribution end of the industry when he joined Epic Wines & Spirits as a sales rep in San Diego.  He worked for 8 years developing and growing territories until he was promoted to Area Manager.

Sheldon Alexander

Vice President - Strategic Retail

Accomplished executive in chain retail, on-premise bar and restaurant, national account business, as well as operational aspects of distribution. Driven by results, with an astute business acumen, and an assertive approach to increasing bottom line profits. Sheldon brings more than two decades of profit growth to California. He launched his career in 1990 as a chain sales rep for Young's Market in California. Quickly climbing the ranks, he pioneered pivotal roles, fortified customers/supplier relationships, accelerated profits and market share growth while controlling expenses. Sheldon bespeaks the integrity and a work ethic characteristic of entrepreneurial leadership success.

Kelly Connors

Kelly Connors
Director of Supplier Relations

Kelly has extensive experience in wine and spirits distribution, business development and import/export management.  In additional working at two of California’s largest wine and spirits wholesalers, Kelly has previously lived and worked in distribution outside the US, mostly in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.  Kelly resides in Sonoma and enjoys continuing his wine and spirits education.  He is currently a Certified Sommelier (CS) from the Court of Master Sommeliers, a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW), and Certified Sprits Specialist (CSS) from the Society of Wine Educations.  Kelly has a BA in International Relations and an MBA in International Management.

Aaron Ainsworth

Regional Manager - Greater Los Angeles

Aaron began his career in beverage distribution as a sales representative in Tampa, Florida with Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) in 2006.  Aaron relocated to Los Angeles in 2007 and began a seven year career with Young’s Market Company.  Aaron served as a Division Wine Manager with YMCO for five years, accruing multiple awards including Division Wine Manager of the Year in 2009 and as a team member of the Division of the Year in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011. He joined Epic Wines in January of 2014 as an Area Manager. Aaron received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from The University of Florida Warrington College of Business.

Marc Chaiet

Area Manager - Los Angeles, Downtown & West Hollywood

Marc has spent 20 years in the Food & Beverage Industry in New York City and Los Angeles.  He began his career in Wine & Spirits Distribution at Young's Market Company as an on-premise specialist in West Los Angeles.  March joined Epic Wines & Spirits in 2014 and worked in West Los Angeles and Beverly Hill. He became an Area Manager in 2015, focusing on Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, and West Hollywood.  Marc graduated with a BS in Business/Communication from Indiana University in 1997.

Stacey Nolan

Stacey Nolan
Area Manager - Santa Cruz, Monterey, Big Sur

Stacey began her career as an engineer drafting wiring diagrams and managing construction crews for AT&T in Northern California. But Stacey's passion for food and wine couldn't be denied, which led her to pursue various management roles in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Eventually, Stacey joined Bock Wines & Spirits as a Sales Representative and began to realize her talent for sales as she exponentially grew the Santa Cruz and Monterey territories over several years.  

After joining Epic in 2008, Stacey continued to amplify her sales success by growing and developing the greater Santa Cruz area as a Sales Representative.  Stacey was soon recognized for her hard work and was promoted to Area Manager. Stacey has a B.A. in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas and an A.S. in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management from Cabrillo College.

John Arata

John Arata
Area Manager - Sacramento and Central Valley

John attended both Santa Monica College and UC Irvine where he played Volleyball for both schools.  After honing his skills in the restaurant and hospitality industry, he joined the distribution side.   He has worked for Southern Wine & Spirts and more recently with Young’s Market totaling more than 21 years of experience of fine wines and distribution.

Michael Biagi

Michael Biagi
Area Manager - Orange County, Inland Empire & Long Beach

As area manager for the Orange County communities, Michael brings 14 years of experience in the Fine Wine & Spirits Industry and is a Certified Specialist of Wine.  He graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in International Relations, and held  the positions of Manager and Wine Steward for Universal Wine Partners in Tokyo.  Upon his return to the states, he started working in wine sales in the San Diego area, and eventually became the Branch Manager of PRP Wines of Massachusetts, selling to clients throughout New England.  In 2004, Michael returned home to California and spent 6 years at Kobrand Corporation.   His experience with accounts in Orange Country, Los Angeles and the greater Los Angeles area, led him to a management position at Epic Wines & Spirits.

David Brodowsky

David Brodowsky
Area Manager - Santa Barbara & West Valley

David has spent 15 years as a hospitality and food service professional. After graduating from Johnson & Wales university with a BS in hotel/restaurant management David worked in New York, Los Angeles, and the US Virgin Islands. 

David took his extensive knowledge of this industry to American Wines & Spirits in 2011 and has quickly become a respected and successful wines and spirits professional. David joined Epic in April 2014. 

David Brenner

David Brenner
Area Manager - South Bay

After nine years in the restaurant business, David transitioned to the distribution side and focused on establishing himself as a respected manager in the greater Bay Area. Prior to joining Epic Wines and Spirits, David worked for Young's Market Company where, in 2015, his team won the "Team of the Year" award and he was honored with "Key Account Manager Of The Year." Shortly after that, he was promoted to Division Manager and led his team to the top, once again. David's continued passion for the industry and market growth continues to drive sales within his teams here at Epic.

David currently lives in San Jose and while he is not on top of a bar stool, working with industry influencers, he enjoys the mountains, traveling, and a good cup of coffee.

Christian Gourdin, CS

Area Manager - San Francisco

Christian was born to a family of wine merchants. His grandfather, Robert Gourdin, a sommelier at the “21 Club,” was a founding member of The Sommelier Society of America and founded the first International Wine Society, Les Amis du Vin in the early 1960’s. As well, his mother and father were both importers and distributors of fine wines in Manhattan. He spent a summer as a tour guide for Moët Champagne in Épernay, France.

Before joining Epic Wines and Spirits, Christian worked at New York City’s prestigious Knickerbocker Club as a Sommelier and Beverage Director, and at the fine wine division of Empire Merchants in NYC. Christian is a Certified Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers and a WSET Level 3 in Wine and Spirits. 

John Reiter

John Reiter
Chain Account Executive - Southern California

John Reiter has dedicated over 20 years to developing relationships with key chain accounts in the Wine, Spirits and Beer industry.  After graduating from San Diego State, John accepted his first job as a Chains Sales Rep at Heublein’s Southern California where he quickly advanced through the ranks as a spirits Category Manager, followed by a spirits District Manager, and finally calling on Chain Headquarters.  From there, John continued to grow chain market accounts for Boston Beer Company, Margaritaville Spirits, and MillerCoors. Epic welcomed John to the Account Executive Chains team in September of 2016.

John and his wife Lisa have three sons, and the whole family is avid sailors.  John serves on the board of directors of the San Diego Yacht Club and is a current board member and past President of the Christermon Foundation, the alcohol beverage industry scholarship fund for California licensees, distributors, and manufacturers.  John is a Cicerone certified beer server, and is working towards his CSW in wine.
